Digital tools are transforming cancer care in Europe, from remote monitoring to AI-assisted diagnosis. But this transformation is only possible if healthcare professionals have the right digital skills.
The TRANSiTION project, co-funded by the EU under the EU4Health programme, has spent the last three years addressing this critical challenge. Through a unique EU-wide collaboration, it has built and piloted an 11-module curriculum tailored for both clinical and non-clinical oncology professionals. It has also shaped the broader conversation on digital health training by convening key stakeholders and mapping real-world needs across 14 countries.
This final event brought its legacy to the European Parliament, not just to look back, but to look ahead. It also framed the discussion within the broader context of EU competitiveness and the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), aligning digital oncology workforce development with strategic EU priorities for resilience and innovation.
This high-level event:
Participants were also invited to join a Q&A session to share experiences and help shape the way forward. The event was an opportunity to reinforce the EU’s leadership in oncology training, highlight best practices, and build collective momentum for Europe’s progress in cancer care.
