Flash Report - Virtual Meeting on Informed and Shared Decision-Making

We are pleased to share the flash report from the Virtual Meeting on Informed and Shared Decision-Making, which took place on 18 January 2023 in collaboration with the Anticancer Fund, Community 365 Contributor and our Inequalities Network.

The meeting highlighted the importance of achieving more well-informed and shared decision-making with cancer patients in routine oncology care. Best practice tools to help achieve this were presented, alongside most recent research on the topic. Expert speakers from the patient and healthcare professional perspective discussed challenges to achieving informed and shared decision-making  and recommendations for overcoming these.

The meeting was held in conjunction with the publication of a new open access article in the Journal of Cancer Policy “Cancer literacy – Informing patients and implementing shared decision-makingmaking”.
