SweCan, Sweden’s national Cancer Mission Hub, has been established by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) on government assignment to strengthen coordination, collaboration and delivery across the entire cancer continuum in Sweden – from prevention and early detection to treatment, rehabilitation and quality of life – and to serve as Sweden’s national interface to the EU Cancer Mission, ECHoS, and strengthened Nordic and European collaboration. More information on SweCan is available here.

As part of the programme, ECO will present the European Cancer Pulse Country Report for Sweden, a landmark new factsheet comparing Sweden’s performance across cancer control to other EU countries. The report’s expert commentary and data highlight strengths, opportunities and inequalities across the cancer continuum, supporting national discussion on how to accelerate progress for people affected by cancer in Sweden.

These insights form part of ECO’s wider efforts with national partners across Europe through the European Cancer Pulse Country Reports and the ECO series of Country Visits, which bring together national insights and comparative European data to support better cancer policy.
