As political agendas shift and health budgets tighten, the cancer community must maximise every opportunity, every partnership, and every investment. In extraordinary times, complacency is not an option.
This year’s Summit convened our vast cancer community to chart a new path forward, ensuring cancer remains a strategic priority for Europe.
Focused on the urgent need to secure sustained political and financial support for cancer care and control, the Summit provided a unique setting for healthcare professionals, patients and policymakers to address challenges from every perspective and strengthen their commitment to international cooperation. With negotiations for the upcoming EU long-term budget on the horizon, a series of publications were also unveiled at the Summit, including ‘Next Level for Cancer Screening: From Commitments to Continued Action for Early Cancer Detection,’ ‘Harnessing AI for Cancer Care in Europe,’ and ‘Next Level EU Cancer Survivorship and Quality-of-Life Policy.’
Developed with ECO’s nine Focused Topic Networks, the report synthesises the Summit’s key sessions, debates and policy priorities for the next phase of European action.
And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the next European Cancer Summit on 18–19 November 2026, in Brussels and online.
