Hepatitis is a major risk factor for liver cancer, yet prevention, early detection, and integrated care remain underused across Europe and beyond. Misconceptions, fear, and stigma limit access to testing, treatment, and support – ultimately impacting health outcomes.
This 60-minute online masterclass, organised jointly by the European Cancer Organisation and the World Hepatitis Alliance, explored the scientific and policy links between hepatitis and cancer, shared best practices for addressing stigma and discrimination, and highlightred opportunities for more integrated, stigma-free care. Featuring leading experts, advocates, and those who’ve actually experienced the virus, this event was the first in a series from ECO addressing key issues at the intersection of cancer and hepatitis.
