
Victor Negrescu is Vice-president of the European Parliament and member of the committees on Public Health, Legal Affairs, and Budgets.
Since his first election to the European Parliament in 2014, Victor Negrescu has held several key positions, including Quaestor of the European Parliament, Vice-President of the Committee on Culture and Education, and EP rapporteur on the EU's annual budget. He currently chairs the EP's first-ever Intergroup on Education and Skills and is Vice-President of the Party of European Socialists. He has authored several key proposals at EU level, including the allocation of 10% of the RRF to education, the possibility for countries to amend their recovery plans, and the European Digital Education Strategy. He was actively involved in the European Year of Youth, the European Year of Skills and the Conference on the Future of Europe.
Victor Negrescu holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and has obtained certifications from prestigious institutions in Romania, Belgium, France, and the United States. MEP Negrescu has a long experience in academia, media, public administration, and the private sector. He has also served as Romania's Minister for EU Affairs, in charge of preparing for the EU Presidency, and as Vice Rector of the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration.
