The iNTERVENE project brings together a consortium of 8 partners from 6 countries with extensive expertise in the development, assessment, and successful implementation of continuous professional development and training programmes in health. iNTERVENE is expected to create a methodology and educational content extending the health literacy of citizens, cancer patients, their carers’, and healthcare professionals on cancer prevention and care.
Coordinating the iNTERVENE Project

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) is a modern university based in Limassol, Cyprus, recognised for its strong focus on applied research and innovation. CUT brings together expertise from several disciplines — including Nursing, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics, and Communication and Internet Studies — to address real-world societal challenges.
Providing Evidence for Health Literacy in Cancer Care

Servizo Galego de Saúde (SERGAS) is the public health service of Galicia, a region in north-west Spain serving around 2.7 million people. The system includes a wide network of hospitals, primary care centres and community health services, supported by more than 40.000 health professionals. Over the years, SERGAS has developed strong expertise in digital health solutions, including electronic health records, e-prescriptions, telemedicine services and mobile health applications.
Its research and innovation activities focus on improving primary care, managing chronic conditions and promoting health within communities.
Championing the Patient Voice

Cancer Patients Europe (CPE) is a pan-European, all-cancer patient association that unites and represents the voices of cancer patients, survivors, and carers across Europe. The organisation works to ensure that all people affected by cancer in Europe have equitable and timely access to high-quality care and support. CPE advocates for patient-centred policies and promotes a comprehensive approach to the cancer care pathway, from prevention and early detection to treatment, survivorship, and palliative care.
Through its work, CPE aims to reduce the burden of cancer on patients, carers, healthcare systems, and society across Europe.
Mapping Health Literacy Programmes

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is the largest university in Greece and one of the country’s leading academic institutions. Within the iNTERVENE project, AUTH participates through its School of Medicine and the Laboratory of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation. The laboratory has more than a decade of experience in medical education and health informatics, with a particular focus on developing and evaluating innovative digital health solutions designed around the needs of patients, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
Connecting Policy and Cancer Care

The European Cancer Organisation (ECO) is a Brussels-based not-for-profit federation that brings together a broad network of European cancer societies and patient organisations. By connecting healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient advocates, ECO works to promote collaboration across the cancer community and to strengthen cancer policy and practice across Europe. The organisation plays an important role in advocating for improvements in cancer prevention, treatment and care, and in promoting patient-centred approaches within health systems.
Bringing Clinical Expertise to the Project

LINAC-PET Scan OPCO Limited, also known as the German Oncology Center, is a specialised oncology centre based in Limassol, Cyprus. Since its establishment in 2017, the centre has developed into a regional hub for advanced cancer diagnosis, treatment and research, serving patients from Cyprus, South-Eastern Europe and the Middle East. LINAC-PET brings together experienced medical professionals and advanced medical technologies, contributing both clinical expertise and a strong connection to real-world cancer care.
Advancing Digital Health Literacy

The University of Maribor (UM) is the second-largest and second-oldest university in Slovenia, with a long academic tradition and 17 faculties covering a wide range of disciplines. Within the university, the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Maribor has developed a strong research profile, particularly in the field of nursing and health sciences, with active participation in international collaborations and projects focused on various topics in nursing, such as EBN, EBH, mental health, oncology, public health, gerontology, and innovation and digitization in healthcare.
With its academic expertise and research capacity, UM contributes to European partnerships addressing key social and health challenges.
Delivering Accessible Health Literacy Training

The University of Porto (U.Porto) is one of Portugal’s leading academic institutions, known for its strong tradition in medical education and research. Within the iNTERVENE project, the university participates through the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), a long-established centre for teaching, research and clinical collaboration. Located alongside the São João University Hospital, FMUP combines academic expertise with close links to healthcare practice, supporting the training of future medical professionals and contributing to advances in medical science.
