Gusty Graas

Member, Chamber of Deputies, Luxembourg 

 

Born in 1957, Gusty Graas, a journalist by profession, was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1999. He was re-elected in 2013 and has served as Member of Parliament since then. Mr. Graas holds several key positions within the Chamber of Deputies, including President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Subcommittee on European Affairs, as well as Vice-President of the Committee on Civil Service. In addition, he chairs the parliamentary delegation to the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC) and the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He also serves as Vice-President of the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO. Mr. Graas also sits on the Committee for Internal Affairs, the Committee for Health and Social Security, the Committee for Mobility and Public Works, the Committee for Civil Service, the Committee for Media and Communication, the Committee for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity and the Committee for Agriculture, Food and Viticulture.


Mr. Graas, who holds a degree in History from the University of Luxembourg, also serves as alderman and deputy mayor since 2011 in the municipality of Bettembourg. He has been a member of the local council of Bettembourg since 1988.
