Gemma Bowsher is lead for Global Health Security at the King’s Centre for Conflict and Health Security, and a member of the Institute for Cancer Policy at King’s College London.

Her work centres on health systems strengthening and resilience during conflict, with a particular interest in the protection of oncology services. She works on hybrid threats to health systems and biological security, working extensively in settings such as Ukraine and the Middle East.

Dr Bowsher is a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, and regularly advises national governments, the UN, and civil society organisations on health security problems. She is also a clinical radiology physician in the United Kingdom.
