Daniela Giangreco is Head of the Primary Prevention Department at the Italian League Against Cancer (LILT) – Milan, where she leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programmes in tobacco control and health promotion across schools and community settings. Her work focuses on innovative prevention strategies, behavioural change, and intercultural health communication.

Her international academic journey has taken her across the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. She holds a degree in Psychology and a second degree in Languages and Cultural Studies from the UWL (London), as well as a postgraduate qualification in Health Sector Management from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

For the past 15 years, she has been leading the antismoking programme for LILT Milan and has co-authored a number of publications on tobacco prevention among youth, culturally adapted health promotion for ethnic minorities, and participatory educational methods in public health. She has presented her research at major international scientific conferences and in 2021 contributed to the development of the National Oncology Plan at the Italian Ministry of Health as a member of the LILT Committee.

She currently serves as Vice President of the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL), and serves as an active member of the Scientific Committee for the European Conference on Tobacco or Health (ECToH) for the 2023 and 2026 editions.

Daniela Giangreco has also been invited as a guest lecturer at several universities and master’s programmes, including Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Università degli Studi di Milano, Università Bicocca, and Sole24Ore Business School in Rome, among others. Her contributions to public health have been acknowledged through awards such as the EU Health Award (2021) and the Gilead Community Award (2023).
