About the Organisation
European Cancer Organisation (ECO)
The European Cancer Organisation is a not-for-profit federation of 40 healthcare professional organisations and 21 patient groups committed to reducing the burden of cancer. We bring together oncology professionals, survivors, patients, carers, and civil society to shape and implement evidence-based policy and advocate for progress across the entire cancer care pathway. We also provide accreditation for educational events for health professionals working in cancer care through our oncology education accreditation body [Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE)]
Position Overview
The Accreditation & Organisational Support Officer/Assistant will provide essential support to ensure the smooth functioning of the organisation and its education and accreditation activities. This role combines administrative, coordination, logistical, and IT support tasks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oncology Education & Accreditation Support
- Assist with processing accreditation applications for oncology education programmes
- Help with everyday administrative tasks, such as invoicing, reporting, and basic updates to the accreditation platform and website
- Work together with our external partners, including European the oncology groups and societies, as part of the accreditation process
- Contribute to preparing documents that support our education, and accreditation activities
Organisational support
- Administer IT support and maintain contact lists, databases, and systems
- Manage calendars, meetings, and communications for senior staff
- Maintain organised digital and physical filing systems
- Support internal workflows, cross-team coordination, and meeting documentation
- Track deadlines, deliverables, and administrative requirements
- Assist with the organisation of internal and external meetings, and events, including coordinating logistical aspects and participant management
- Provide administrative and coordination support to ongoing projects, including documentation, reporting, and timeline monitoring
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong curiosity for IT tools and technologies, with the confidence to gradually take on technical tasks as needed
- A proactive mindset with a drive to improve IT processes and resolve challenges independently
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Proactive, reliable, and solution‑oriented mindset
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in administration, management, or a related field
- Previous 1-3 year experience in an administrative, coordination, or office support role
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
- Experience in NGOs, associations, EU‑related organisations, or similar environments is an asset
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
