Elizabeth Cartwright

Dr. Elizabeth Cartwright is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden specialising in the treatment of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. She completed her undergraduate medical training at Imperial College London qualifying with Distinction in Clinical Practice in 2008. She undertook specialist training in Medical Oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital. In 2024, she was awarded the Institute of Cancer Research Chairman's Prize for her MD(Res) studying the role of DNA damage repair targeting in oesophagogastric cancers. In 2025, she was appointed as a Consultant in Medical Oncology in the Gastrointestinal Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital. As part of the GI Cancers Liquid Biopsy team, her focus is on researching the utility of liquid biopsy in cancer of the gastrointestinal tract.
