Member, Special Committee on the Covid-19 Pandemic (COVI)

 

Véronique Trillet-Lenoir is a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. As rapporteur of the European Parliament's special committee on beating cancer, she was responsible for defining the Parliament's position on the Cancer Plan proposed by the European Commission. She is vice-coordinator of the Renew Europe group in the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, as well as coordinator of the new special committee on Covid19. She is also a substitute member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. She chairs the MEPs Against Cancer group in the European Parliament, which has over 120 members from different political groups.

University professor and hospital oncologist by profession, Véronique Trillet-Lenoir created the medical oncology department of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, where early clinical trials are developed, and teaches oncology at the Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University.

In addition to her medical, teaching and research activities, she has chaired the board of the Cancéropole Lyon-Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Cancer Institute (INCA).
