Director of Clinical Affairs, The Irish Cancer Society

Amy is our ‘Director of Clinical Affairs’, driving our relationships with clinicians and healthcare professionals and is our clinical spokesperson. She also leads our institutional partnerships with hospitals and universities throughout Ireland and advises on clinical service provision.


Amy joined the Society in 2022 as our ‘Head of Children, Adolescents & Young Adults’ (CAYA) and she continues to manage our CAYA services and policy, including the delivery of bespoke services, and impactful advocacy campaigns to ensure compassionate support for patients and families affected by a CAYA cancer diagnosis.
She has previously led our Night Nursing Team on an interim basis, has enjoyed the development of our Pride activities and celebrations. She is a consistent champion of our work and embodies our values - particularly inclusion and compassion.


Amy has over two-decades’ experience in the delivery of patient-centric cancer care and support. She was previously employed at St. James’s Hospital Dublin as ‘Lead Cancer Nurse’, and also managed the St. James’s Hospital Oncology Day Ward for seven years. Other roles which Amy has held include positions within Palliative Care, and Cancer Genetic Testing.


She holds an MSc. (First class) in Clinical Leadership in Healthcare from UCD and is an RCSI Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery (FFNMRCSI) - recognition of an outstanding clinical career and exceptional long-term Oncology Nursing leadership.
