Claudia Robles

 Claudia Robles, PhD, is an epidemiologist in the Unit of Infection and Cancer – Information and Interventions within the Cancer Epidemiology Research Program (PREC) in the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO).

Her research topics focus on cancer prevention, with a more recent focus on cervical cancer prevention through screening and HPV vaccination.

She worked for two years in the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) where she explored quality indicators of cervical cancer screening in Colombia, the potential use of serum biomarkers for the prevention of gastric cancer and assisted in the implementation of a breast cancer screening program in Belarus.

She currently coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of the cervical cancer screening program in Catalonia. She is also assisting in the implementation of an organised HPV-based cervical cancer screening program with self-sampling. She is also currently participating in three European projects, two on HPV vaccination and another one on risk-based cervical cancer screening.

She periodically collaborates with the online training platform e-oncología by developing the content and tutoring of courses related to cervical cancer prevention.
